First things first—Welcome to the World Leonie! Anson and I are so happy to have another niece to dote on :) She was born in mid-April and we can’t wait to meet her!
She is, of course, very stylish in the clothes I got her 🙂
Congrats Aaron and Daniela! She is beautiful!!!
Anson and I don’t have too much to report. We’ve been busily just keeping up with our routine (and lovin’ it!).
Recently we have been roller blading on the sunny weekend days. You may think this would be a rare occurrence, but we have been out every weekend for the past 3 weeks. Normally we skate on the top level of a parking garage—completely flat and empty. Which works for me since I have the grace of a three-legged bear and skate like a penguin 🙂
Today we actually ventured out into the real world. We went on the Redmond-Sammamish trail. It’s pretty flat, which is good. Unfortunately, there are a TON of people on it on the weekends. I managed to not fall (though I came close quite a few times). I didn’t last too long (the trail is MUCH different than a completely flat, empty roof), but hopefully I’ll get better with time. Either that or I will break down and buy the roller skates I’ve been dreaming of 🙂
I’ve also starting volunteering as an Assisting Minister during church service. Last week was my first go at it. I managed to get the microphone caught on the chair and sent it FLYING around. Everyone stood (holding in their laughs) and waited for me to recover. Hopefully this week will go better! I’ve also agreed to be nominated to be on the Transition Team. It is the first step in our search for a new pastor and I am excited to be a part of it!
The only other bit of news I can think to report is about Beta. A couple of weeks ago we noticed she had a significant limp. It started right after she jumped off the bed, so we assumed maybe she pulled a muscle or something. It didn’t get better the next day so I took her to the vet. They think she tore (not completely) a ligament in her knee. They gave her an anti-inflammatory and pain meds for a few days. She was much better the following day. Of course, now it is a week or so later and she still has a slight limp. She can’t quite make the jumps she used to with it. I’ve nicknamed her “Hobble” for the time-being. It doesn’t seem to be hurting her though and the vet said she may be prone to this kind of thing from now on. As long as Beta’s happy though, I’m okay 🙂
